Dr. Alex Hung, ND, L.Ac.

Naturopathic Doctor & Licensed Acupuncturist

I am a Chinese medicine practitioner and naturopathic doctor with a passion for hands-on therapy and whole-person care. My approach brings together traditional Chinese medical philosophy and modern biomedical knowledge to better understand each person's health and offer individualized treatment. I draw on many modalities, including Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture, Tui Na, visceral manipulation, and injection therapies. I enjoy working with a wide range of health concerns, approaching each patient with curiosity and attention to the unique patterns underlying their experience.

What drew me to Chinese medicine was its philosophy of understanding life through patterns and relationships. Seemingly unrelated phenomena in nature, the body, and our everyday experiences can be expressions of the same underlying patterns, each offering insight into the others. This way of seeing the world deeply resonates with me and continues to shape both my practice of medicine and my personal path of cultivation.

I pursued naturopathic medicine to ground this understanding in biomedical science and expand the ways I can care for patients. At their foundations, I see both traditions as sharing a respect for the inherent intelligence of the body and the wisdom of nature. The body has a natural movement toward healing and balance; my role as a practitioner is to recognize and remove obstacles to this process while supporting the body's natural capacity to heal.

In my practice, I strive to create a space where patients feel safe and free to be themselves. Beyond addressing their immediate concerns, I hope to help people develop a deeper understanding of and sensitivity to their bodies, experience a greater sense of ease, and cultivate an appreciation for the richness of each stage of life.

I began studying Qigong with Dr. Kamto Lee in 2012 and subsequently trained with him in Chinese medicine and bodywork. I graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine in 2022, and my practice continues to evolve through ongoing study and hands-on training.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy playing basketball and tennis, being in nature, cooking, traveling, and exploring Chinese culture through its language and history. I also love spending time with family, especially my niece and nephew, who have brought a lot of joy into my life.
